Furniture maker and designer, established in Santa Cruz, primarily woodwork in blue (either a product of my love for the Kansas City Royals or because it brings out the color of my eyes) and starting my first blog ever!
The content: over the course of the next few months, I will be working on 3 pieces of furniture; pieces I've chosen to make because I consider them invaluable or foundational to a home. Each piece will be an independent exploration of my aesthetic, skills and interests. Choice of materials will also vary (with inclusion of metal and textiles), in other words, the chair will not really match the desk. Then again, each piece will be designed and crafted by me, using only local/domestic hardwoods, so there will be similarities and of course, lots of oak.
It will take awhile to complete all 3, but that is part of the fun and it means you can keep coming back for months and months! During the process of table/desk/chair, I will still be accepting commissions, while also exploring simpler projects that will be for sale at a set price. More important than earnings is my enjoyment and pleasure in woodcraft, hopefully it comes out in my work.
